Side by Side (SxS) offroad racing

We knew it wouldn't be long before someone realised that Wildcats can be great fun and a race series would need to develop around them. Quad bike racing is great fun but bloody hard on the body and prone to causing injuries whereas SxS racing is more akin to car racing and benefits from full cage protection.
Being a race car team we are adept at modifying the Wildcat 1000i H.O. for competition with upgrades to the chassis, cage, suspension, brakes and power train which maximise the already stunning performance. A lot of the upgrades come from our partners in the USA where SxS racing has been going for a long time but others are home grown, our race cages are all designed in house and manufactured in the UK as are a lot of our other upgrades.
We can supply vehicles either ready for upgrades or fully competition prepared machines ready for the track
Thorney Motorsport now has a new Thorney Offroad operation where we supply Arctic Cat SxS offroad vehicles. Based from our Silverstone racing HQ where we have our own practice and demonstration track we are now offering the ultra high performance Wildcat 1000i H.O. side by side and as you'd expect from one of the UK's largest race teams we are also offering a full supply and support package for people interested in racing these exciting vehicles offroad.
We are currently working on creating several race series for the Wildcats to compete in. A variety of events are under consideration, including safari, endurance, beach races and sprints.
At this stage of the game it's looking encouraging that Wildcat owners will have a varied choice of racing series types in which to compete with their Wildcats.
The offroad racing is fantastic, usually short 20 minute sprints over dedicated MX circuits means that excitement is guaranteed but also safe with all the side by side (SxS) machines having full safety cages, harness and FX. Roll overs are common but all part of the side by side racing. For 2012, not only are we entering our own 2 Thorney Offroad prepared Wildcat vehicles, we are also offering a full sale, support and arrive and drive options for the series with a fully specced Wildcat 1000i H.O. costing under £16k or race rental packages from £1500 per weekend.
Bizzarely, we did initially have entries confirmed for the NORA MX series but Polaris instructed NORA MX to ban the Wildcat from competing against the Polaris XP900 (although, strangely the Can Am Commander is still allowed entry?). We can only surmise that Polaris are so scared of the Wildcat's performance that they refuse to race against it rather than be humiliated by being beaten by the UK newcomer!
By August we aim to have a full schedule of events across the UK for Wildcat owners to compete in, watch this space ...
